2. Researchers find infectious parasites in freshwater fish; consumers warned about improper preparation
Two species of fish-borne parasites have been found in freshwater fish routinely caught for consumption.
Food Standards Scotland (FSS) research has revealed high refrigerator temperatures are putting people at increased risk of foodborne illness. FSS is hosting a webinar on the findings on June 18.
A South African peanut butter manufacturer has agreed to pay a fine following a recall in 2024.
House of Natural Butters will pay R500,000 (U.S. $28,200) in relation to the recalls which were prompted by aflatoxin contamination.
