A man charged with 22 counts of criminal threat involving food at a Kansas City area restaurant has pleaded guilty. Jace Hanson allegedly posted videos online showing himself contaminating food in various ways such as spitting on it, urinating on food, and rubbing food on his body.
Swedish public health officials have reported an increase in the number of people infected with Campylobacter in recent weeks. From the beginning of June, the number of cases increased from 30 to 70 in the week starting June 23.
A livestock manager for the Houston Humane Society has renewed support for a 2-year-old petition from Animal Partisan to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, calling for a policy statement clarifying the ability of state law enforcement officials to enforce state anti-cruelty laws.
