What to know: Two people have died in a Listeria outbreak in France linked to cheese. Health authorities reported 21 cases of listeriosis. Pasteurized cheeses were distributed to more than 20 countries including the United States, Canada, and the UK. 

Outbreaks of Salmonella Oranienburg and E. coli O145:H28 have been declared over or investigations have closed. An outbreak of infections with the Cyclospora parasite has been split into two. 

Sky Valley Fresh are using slow vat pasteurization as an alternative to milk pasteurized at the processors or raw milk.

An emergency rule has been filed to classify isolated and/or concentrated 7-hydroxymitragynine (7-OH) from kratom as a Schedule I controlled substance in Florida.

The safety of food products is being put at risk by a rise in people using trucks to enter the United Kingdom, according to a report.
