At least 162 people have been infected by Salmonella after eating food at a festival held on June 27 and 28 in Oza Cesuras. Of these, 22 have required hospitalization. Initial investigations suggest a link to one of the festival’s food stalls selling tortillas.  

The Food and Drug Administration uses import alerts to enforce U.S. food safety regulations for food from foreign countries. Recent modifications cover soft ripened cheese from France and cantaloupes from Mexico.
