Oklahoma’s attorney general has rejected a move by the state’s Energy and Environment secretary to hire private counsel in the long-running State of Oklahoma v. Tyson Foods Inc. pollution case. The AG argues that only his office has legal authority to represent the state as plaintiff in the 20-year-old lawsuit over poultry waste in the Illinois River watershed.

Tributes have been paid to the head of the National Food Agency of Georgia, who has died. Zurab Chekurashvili had been in the role for more than a decade.

The Latvian Food and Veterinary Service (PVD) said it was deeply saddened by the passing of a dear friend and valued partner.
