What to know: The Food and Drug Administration is investigating a new outbreak caused by Salmonella Oranienburg. Also, the patient count in an outbreak caused by the cyclospora parasite has increased. 

The FDA has identified more oysters from the Republic of Korea that should not be sold or eaten because of norovirus contamination. 

Researchers have detailed the largest Salmonella outbreak in Norway since the 1980s and highlighted the need for improved detection methods.

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has reported enforcement data for half of fiscal year 2025.

The latest data on foodborne illness in Australia has revealed Salmonella caused more than half of reported outbreaks.
