The FDA and CDC have updated information about a multi-state outbreak of Listeria infections traced to pasta meals. Four people have died in the outbreak.
The implicated pasta was produced by Nate’s Fine Foods. The company has recalled 245,000 pounds of pasta and companies that used it in their products have initiated recalls of their own.
As it becomes more common for states also to restrict various food additives, it is not surprising that one has gotten itself sued.
The International Association of Color Manufacturers (IACM) is demanding that the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia halt the state’s ban on specific food colors and ingredients.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom has signed a bill into law that requires restaurant chains to declare major food allergens on their menus.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has delayed the publication of new foodborne disease figures until 2026.
WHO said although the report was initially planned for 2025, it was “unfortunately not possible due to unforeseen changes.”
