What to know: Almost 30 people have fallen ill and three have died in a multi-year Listeria outbreak being investigated in Denmark.
There are two different Listeria types linked to Polar Salmon Hjerting Laks from 2018 to 2024.

The U.S. Senate has confirmed Martin Makary to head the Food and Drug Administration.
The chamber voted to approve President Trump’s nomination largely along party lines, voting 56-44 for Makary to confirm him as FDA commissioner. Three Democratic senators crossed the aisle to vote for Makary.

The Federal Agency for the Safety of the Food Chain (FASFC) consumer contact point received 5,222 complaints. This is up from 4,865 complaints in 2023.
