Since mid-2023, the country has experienced a sustained increase in Salmonella Enteritidis infections. The rise comes at the same time as an increase in positive tests for Salmonella in laying hen flocks.

Investigators from the Florida Department of Health have traced the outbreak to Keely Farms Dairy. There have been 21 patients, including seven hospitalizations.
Modified import alerts include one for Mahimahi from Ecuador and Taiwan due to histamine.
Reports by European countries reached 164 in June 2025, up from 129 in May.
