1. E. coli infections traced to Canadian farm restaurant top 100; parasitic infections also increase
What to know: Public health officials have now identified more than 100 patients in an outbreak of E. coli infections related to the Saskatoon Farm restaurant and bakery in Canada.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is reminding parents, caregivers, and anyone packing school lunches to follow a few simple food safety steps as the school year begins.
With help from Europol, Spanish and Portuguese authorities have stopped the introduction of potentially contaminated clams to the food service industry.
