What to know: Wildtype, based in San Francisco, has received a letter from the Food and Drug Administration saying the agency has no questions about whether the company’s cultivated salmon is as safe as comparable foods.
The number of E. coli cases in England dropped slightly in 2023 following a huge increase in 2022. Also, seven outbreaks were recorded including one that affected mainly children with 17 hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) cases.
Consumer Action for a Strong Economy is soliciting comments on the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) Commission and its recent report. Action was prompted by concerns about the scientific foundation of certain findings.
A study gives details on how scientists investigated a cluster of 25 patients who had multilocus sequence type 131 OXA-48–producing E. coli from August 2018 to December 2022.
