It’s Monday, Nov. 17, 2025. We’re starting the week with a focus on oversight — from Congress demanding transparency on infant formula safety to new FDA actions targeting Listeria risks.

A U.S. representative is pressing the FDA for information about ByHeart Inc., the company linked to an outbreak of infant botulism poisonings.

In a letter to FDA Administrator Marty Makary, Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-CT, demanded that all inspection records of the company’s infant formula manufacturing plants be released to Congress.

The Food and Drug Administration inspected the food manufacturing facility of Fresh & Ready Foods LLC in San Fernando, CA, from March 31 to April 15, 2025, according to a warning letter issued Sept. 5 and made public this past week.

A farm owner on the Isle of Wight has been fined after an outbreak resulting in more than 250 people being infected with Cryptosporidium.
