It’s Thursday, September 11, 2025. Here are today’s top food safety updates, from outbreak investigations and recalls to international efforts aimed at strengthening the global food supply.

What to know: In relation to an outbreak of Salmonella infections, Chetak LLC Group has expanded its recall of frozen food products to include fruits and vegetables. The company’s original recall only included frozen sprouted mung beans and moth beans.

The number of confirmed patients in several foodborne outbreaks has increased during the past week.

The Food and Drug Administration is currently investigating nine outbreaks caused by parasites and bacteria.

The latest report on food fraud in Europe has been released and includes suspected cases of adulteration and problems with traceability.

Such fraud can lead to food safety issues. There were 136 reports in July, down from 164 in June 2025 but up from 129 in May.

Australia, Canada and Ireland have recently made financial contributions to a program that helps other countries improve food safety.

Australia is providing $4 million (U.S. $2.6 million) through the Standards and Trade Development Facility (STDF) to help developing countries and least-developed countries (LDCs) access global agriculture markets.
