It’s Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2025. Today we’re following new international outbreak updates, fresh import requirements tied to a major Salmonella surge, and regulatory actions spanning North America.
Several outbreak updates involving the United Kingdom were provided by scientists at a recent event.
Presentations at the European Scientific Conference on Applied Infectious Disease Epidemiology (ESCAIDE) covered Shigella, Listeria, and Salmonella outbreaks affecting the UK. ESCAIDE is organized by the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC).
In the midst of a nationwide outbreak, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has ordered that all pistachios imported from Iran must be tested for Salmonella.
As of the most recent update from the Public Health Agency of Canada in November, there are 155 laboratory-confirmed salmonella infections in Canada linked to the consumption of pistachios and pistachio-containing products.
The Mexican food agency has called on the private sector to invest more in health and safety.
U.S. Marshals have seized approximately 73,000 units of product containing 7-hydroxymitragine, commonly known as 7-OH. The products were seized from facilities operated by Shaman Botanicals LLC and Relax Relief Rejuvenate Trading LLC.
