It’s Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2025. We’re tracking a surge in infant botulism cases tied to ByHeart formula, a widening bribery probe in Vietnam’s food safety agency, a major outbreak investigation involving a suspended caterer in Singapore, and new enforcement actions from the FDA at home. Here’s what you need to know.
1. More than 100 babies have received treatment for botulism in relation to ByHeart formula outbreak
California health officials say the current infant botulism outbreak traced to ByHeart formula was preceded by several cases beginning in November 2024. To date more than 100 infants have received treatment for botulism poisoning.
Fourteen people have been prosecuted in Vietnam as part of a bribery case involving the country’s food safety agency.
Almost 200 people have been sickened in Singapore, prompting authorities to suspend a caterer.
The Communicable Diseases Agency, Singapore Food Agency (SFA), and Early Childhood Development Agency, are investigating six incidents of gastroenteritis reported at E-Bridge preschools.
As part of its enforcement activities, the Food and Drug Administration sends warning letters to entities under its jurisdiction. Some letters are not posted for public view until weeks or months after they are sent.
