Here’s what you need to know:
A multistate Salmonella outbreak has sickened at least 79 people across seven states, prompting a nationwide egg recall, the CDC announced late Friday.
The outbreak has been linked to eggs from August Egg Company, with most illnesses reported in California.
August Egg Company has recalled a wide range of products sold at major retailers, including Safeway, Ralphs, Food 4 Less and others. Consumers are urged to check egg cartons for the plant numbers “P-6562” or “CA-5330” and discard or return any affected products.
