What to know: A long-running outbreak of Salmonella infections has been detected by the Food and Drug Administration.

The source is Deep brand frozen mat (moth) and moong (mung) sprouts. Eleven patients have been confirmed and four people were hospitalized.

The former director of Vietnam’s Food Administration is one of several people who have been charged as part of a corruption investigation.
